Fun-gi Fact!

Did you know mushrooms have their own kingdom and are not plants? Mushrooms fall into the Fungi family and have been around as far back 1 billion years ago! Many individual species and varieties have been unchanged for millions, if not hundreds of millions of years. 

Did you know the mushroom you see above ground is actually just the fruiting body of the organism? The actual organism is made up of the mycelium that grows below ground, a complex network of hyphae (root like structures) that will do all the hard work of procuring and producing nutrition for the fruiting body or mushroom.
